Laser resurfacing is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment we perform at Parva Plastic Surgery in Loudoun County, Virginia to remove selective skin layers in order to reveal bright, smooth and a more youthful looking skin. The procedure is effective for wrinkles around the mouth (smoker’s lines), the eyes, and forehead. Others that may benefit from laser resurfacing are those individuals suffering from acne scars or chicken pox scarring. Without intervention these imperfections may continue to grow larger and deeper. Laser resurfacing smoothes out the imperfections and leaves a tighter, healthier skin behind.

At Parva Plastic Surgery in Northern, VA, Laser Resurfacing is performed with the Sciton Laser, an erbium laser that is both safe and highly effective.

What should I expect during a Laser Resurfacing?
Before your Laser Resurfacing treatment at Parva Plastic Surgery in Virginia, a topical numbing agent is applied to the treatment area for 30 minutes. In some cases, a local numbing agent will be used to block treatment areas to assure additional comfort. As the treatment takes place, you may feel bursts of heat, followed by a sunburn sensation. Immediately after your treatment, cool compresses and soothing ointment are applied to the face for additional comfort. Laser Resurfacing treatments are completed within 20-30 minutes and are commonly combined with Laser Micropeel treatments.
